Refugee Resettlement

Each year, World Relief Modesto helps hundreds of refugees - victims of war and persecution around the globe - replant their lives in Stanislaus County. World Relief staff, volunteers & churches walk alongside newcomers, providing support as they adjust to life in their new community.

Volunteers

Volunteers play a critical role in helping refugees adjust to life in America. Whether exploring neighborhoods together, going grocery shopping or building friendships over cups of tea, volunteers accompany refugees as they settle into their new lives and volunteers often find that they receive much more than they give.

Community Involvement

With funding continuing to be cut for English as a Second Language classes, we rely on volunteers and the local community to assist our newcomers in learning English.

Refugee Youth

Refugee children are often excited to go to school in America. They are unsure of what school will be like and how they will fit in. Help them get off to a good start by providing them with a backpack filled with school supplies or by tutoring them after school.

  • Stand With Us

World Relief Modesto mobilizes local churches and volunteers to effectively and passionately serve refugees in the Quad Cities community. We believe God has equipped the church - the most diverse social network on the planet - to be at the center of the stories of the vulnerable, leveraging time, energy and resources to join them in their time of need. World Relief seeks to empower church and community members to Stand for the Vulnerable.
